Kansas is Hot

It’s been way too hot to run the last several days. It was all I could do to mow the lawn. Good thing my yard is small.
Made me think back to my youth when I used to watch a lot of horror and sci-fi movies. I don’t recall the title but there were astronauts exploring a planet who had to walk in the shade all the time because anyone who didn’t, would burst into flames the second the sunlight touched them. Yeah, I know it doesn’t make much sense, but that’s Hollywood.
I came across this website last night. My, but it strikes close to home.

When I first arrived in Lawrence, I was told the joke about Kansas weather is that if you do not like it, wait for a minute :).

Well..the weather guys seem to foretell some rain and cooler temperatures rest of the week. So, I hope some respite for you and a chance to run outside :).

Those temperatures look pretty much like we are getting here in Spain right now. It sucks all your energy completely.
And I don’t know about Kansas, but the weather here is supposed to get hotter over this coming month!
There is a very old film they sometimes show on UK TV (ironically when the weather is hot). I think it’s called ‘The Day The Earth Caught Fire’. Makes me break out into a sweat just watching it!
I couldn’t view the website properly (slow intermittent connection here in rural Spain…). I might try again tomorrow. But from the picture which tried to open, I’m guessing it will be quite moving.

It must be true about waiting on the weather in Kansas. It’s only 86 today!
