Ghosts of Halloween Past
October 29th, 2008In honor of Halloween today’s post takes a little break from writing about the black dog of depression.
They say the difference between a real story and fairy tale is that a fairy tale starts out with “Once upon a time” and a real story starts out with “This is no shit!”
A woman I used to work with named Suzy told me when she was in High School her grandmother was ill and moved in with them. Grandma later died and shortly after that her family moved to a new house. Their old house sat empty & unsold for a while.
One day she happened to run in to a friend who didn’t know they had moved to a different house. This woman told Suzy that she stopped by their old house to visit them and was surprised when an old woman came to the door. When she asked the old woman if Suzy was home the old woman didn’t say anything but just shook her head “no” and closed the door.
Suzy asked her friend to describe the old woman and was shocked to hear her describe her grandmother to a tee.
For another hair-raising Halloween story read A Bump in the Night!

Oooohhh… they just played the halloween episode of MASH here, where they’re telling ghost stories around the operating tables. Even though I’ve seen these old episodes before, I still get a good lauch out of seeing Charles crap himself at the end!
